BEFORE THE CHECK ARRIVES
A few good questions.
Does everyone need an account?
No. The person hosting a shared check signs in, then sends a link or six-character code. Friends can join, claim their items, and see the breakdown in their browser without creating an account.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. Manual receipt splitting and joining a friend’s check are free. Sign in to save receipts and access your included cloud scans. Cloud scanning has usage limits; your remaining allowance is shown in your account.
Can we split shared dishes or pay as a couple?
Yes. In the receipt editor, assign an item to more than one person to divide it equally, and combine people into payment groups. For live shared checks, each receipt line is claimed by one person.
What happens with tax, tip, and discounts?
TableSplit allocates tax, tip, service fees, and discounts in proportion to each person’s items. Remainder cents are distributed so the final amounts add up to the receipt total.
Does TableSplit move money?
No. TableSplit works out who owes what. Settle up using your usual payment method, then use the breakdown to keep everyone on the same page.
Is there an iPhone app?
A native iPhone app is in development, with on-device receipt scanning planned for compatible Apple Intelligence devices. For now, TableSplit works in your phone’s browser—no download needed.
